His outstretched hand showed me this beautiful grove - with trees in a perfect light - as the gaps between them left just enough sunrays to come through. The earth was a burned color red, and the leaves were gradually taking on another shade of red.
- “A tree for every life. Each tree has a name representing those who should have been with me here today, he said.”
It turned out that the postman at the Kibbutz, who Jade hade met while working there, had planted a tree for every family member he had lost in the concentration camps. He was the only survivor and yet, the most positive gentle man you can imagine. As a part of keeping these memories alive - this is one of the most important ones to keep retelling. We must never ever forget what happened in the concentration camps.
‘Whisper’ is a collaboration between Jade Ell and the Danish artist Lasse Matthiessen. During the writing session he helped Jade recall this day in a very vivid way, and so they could capture the words together.
This song is for the postman at Kibbutz Geva; and for every tree ever planted - like a symbol for every Life living on through a whisper inside of a dream... We must never ever forget...
