『时去』源自西晋文学，意为指时间逐渐逝去。大部分人将青春的终点定义在学生时代结束后，开始面对未知的社会。而看似不再年轻的我们，却仍都在时间洪流裡，寻找著生命的答案。这张EP是在说人生进入了另外一个阶段，进入社会遇到的困境，将心情、岁月、感受纪录而成的音乐作品。
三首曲目却有各种不同的风貌，「拍谢啦，爸爸！」描述异乡游子在都市打拼，却仍未达成目标，表达对家人的愧疚，但是依旧不愿放弃理想，内心渴望成功的火光从未熄灭。「时去」描述人生旅途中，对于失去的感情和事物，所寄託的思念与无奈，时光不曾为了谁而回头或停留。「再会青春」诉说现在的自己与过去的学生时期对话，一方面与过往的年少道别。而另一层涵义的「再会」是再次遇见过去的自己，想起学生时期的热情与衝劲。
麻花卷怪兽，成立于2011年高雄，现居台北。是台湾的一支Metalcore /Post-hardcore曲风的乐团，历经团员更替之后，带来了与过去不同的作品，双吉他的凶猛编制与Bass精准的拍点一气呵成，更加起伏的编曲带领听众进入更激昂的情绪。多了更琅琅上口的合唱旋律，以及撞击人心的歌词，可以明显看出乐团的企图心。曾荣获政大金旋乐团创作冠军，参加过见证大团以及台湾各大音乐祭。2016年强势回归，誓言要以强烈风格佔一席之地。
“Bygone Youth” is the third studio EP of Twisted Donut Monsters. It was released on June19th 2016 and produced by Shawn Su. “Bygone Youth” records how people live and feel when entering to the next stage of life. Most people think the endpoint of youth is the end of school life. When people start to work or strive for their ideals, they may face obstacles or confusions. They seem no longer young, but they still look for answers to in our journeys of life.
There are three songs in this EP: “Sorry, Dad,” “Time Flies,” “Goodbye Youth”. All these songs consist of strong guitar riffs and melody, the solid bass sound, dynamic drum fills and powerful screams. However, these songs convey different ideas. “Sorry Dad” depicts the lives of young people who leave home for work. They work hard but haven’t achieve their goals yet. This song expresses their apologies to their parents, while it shows their determination in hopes of success someday. “Bygones” describes how people think or feel to the things or relationships we lost. Although they may sink in memories, time never stops for any of them. “Goodbye Youth” is a self-conversation between the present and the past. Goodbye in Chinese has two meanings: farewell and meet again. Therefore, “Goodbye Youth” is to say goodbye to the past and to meet the past “self” again who was passionate before. This EP is like a punch to your face, giving you the courage to face the world, and keeping in faith to pursue your goals.
Twisted Donut Monsters is a Taiwanese metalcore/post-hardcore band. After the line-up of the band changed, we bring a brand-new piece of work. The fierce guitar duets and aggressive bassline are a perfect match. More rhythmic arrangement brings stronger feeling to the audience. Catchy melody and touching lyrics show our ambition to win the audience’s hearts. Twisted Donut Monsters won the first prize of Golden Melody Awards in 2012 and attended several music festivals in Taiwan. In 2016, we return to the stage with new line-up in hopes of becoming a leading band with our signature style.
