This band, which consists of 2 brothers, a sister, a drummer, and a banjo player, are truly a mix and match of all that is great about music. If you had a musical blender, add 1 part of the passion of Mumford, 1 part of the jam band-y-ness and fun of OAR, 1 part harmonies of bands like Fleet Foxes and Nickel Creek, and about 10 parts youthful exuberance and potential and the result is Sleepy Eyed Fox.This band has banjoes, mandolins, upright bass and every other folk music instruments, but they are able to create a sound that is at once familiar, yet unique. It has aspects of popular music, but seems fresh because the combo is a new sound. BUT, this is a debut album, its a young group, and its has a young sound.
